How to fish for named monster fish !!!

I had tried it for more than 2 months and still could not hook up the monster fish such as Wiggler, Gums, George, Hoff, Hank Marlin, Smilling Inigo and Bazzacuda. I only got Old Mog, Tiddles, Fat Bob, Carpo Marx and Big Red. Can you provide some hints to fish those monster fish. May be you can give me a hint for one fish at a time, until i got it then only give the second one. Thanks

I just got Gums at 76ft by the river using bait fish, so lucky. It just an hour after i posted for help. I will try for George now using spinner at the further part of the river. I got this tips from the forum. Not sure it will works or not. Got to try it. :)
So Lucky again, I got George 30 minute later. Really unbelievable. Never got any monster fish for more than 2 months and just got 2 in a row today. ha ha. got try for Wiggler as read from forum using Luncheon Meat at Lake Shiny. Hopefully got the luck again.
I got George today with a long cast at The River using a spinner. Only way to get him.
Try for Hoff after George. Go to the Breakwater and fish long with Ragworm. Fish a lot, doesn't bite often.

when you're fishing for Wiggler, don't cast more than 84 feet, you'll only get carp. I've caught Wiggler everywhere between 55 & 84 feet.

Just now caught my first Wiggler at Lake Shiny, 78 feet, Luncheon Meat, Tasty Bait, Blue rod. Whew!
I had tried to fish for Wiggler as per your hints. negative results. Got a lot of BREAM instead. Quite bored. I am now trying for Hoff. Hopefully can get it.

Tasty Bait is given to you by the Old Man In The Lighthouse after beating him the 5th time in a Fish Race Tournament. Yes, I got Wiggler by fishing in the Extreme Mode. I don't think the Blue Rod is a necessity to catch Named Fish, I just happen to have been using it at the time. I spent over 2 weeks trying for Wiggler and have caught hundreds of Bream in the process (I'm #6 on the Leaderboard for Bream - look for SharkNose). :D
Persistence will pay off....

Thanks ! No wonder i had tried it before and got frustrated caused must get 5 wins and no record after switch off the application. I don't have that long time to go for marathon, usually i play on and off in a day. So i don't think i can get the tasty bait. Just wait for the update. Thanks again
I just caught the new monster fish a 886 pound sailfish called buckles. but does anyone know how to catch a big barracuda my biggest is 550 pounds
Well done with catching buckles - I guess that means there's a new version of FF in the iTunes Store. Better go have a look...
For BIG Barracuda, load up with bait fish & cast long - I think that's best. You'll have to work hard though, I think they're more difficult than swordfish to land, at any weight over 600 lbs.
with gizmos - use whatever is of most use to you. For me - Auto Slip is too hard to control, maybe it gets better with practice & it works for you to help reel in a bigger fish. The tasty bait gizmo (from memory) means bigger fish will strike more often and it's up to you to be able to land them. Which will be of better value to you is something only you can decide!
By the way, not finding this new forum to be very nice. The lack of sigs and reply is a sad loss in usability from the last forum.
1400 lbs is not so shabby, well done. Keep on fishing... it seems to be cake month again and the fish are nice & fat at the moment.
November is always Birthday Cake month in Flick Fishing (FF is 2!) and it's also active in Flick Fishing Free, just not mentioned anywhere ;)

I have caught all named fish except for Buckles. I just need to know where to find him and the correct bait and line cast for it.

Gums is a pike and you get him with bait fish at 75 ft. i hook him rather frequently thought. and not sure about the titanic thing i havent really been playing the free version much but i will definetly check it out

Can i catch buckles in FFF?
I have caught the 12 others named fishs
Buckles will be in the next update to FFF (which should be fairly soon), he's only in FF at the moment.
Bracken: The game doesn't mention where any specific collectibles are, which guide are you referring to?
Ah right yes, that's just the name of the collection. I'll have a look at the Blue Deeps one as it *is* meant to be stuff you can collect there, so the painting shouldn't be in it (I think I moved the location of the painting fairly late in development, so it should probably have been replaced in that collection. Officially it got washed ashore into the river by a free bore wave ;) )
Tournaments aren't on the immediate plans for FFF (FF & FFF are basically aimed at different types of player) but there are some pretty funky new things coming to FFF after the next update :)
For the Titanic nameplate, you'll need to fish in Waves of Doom. It's pretty rare though.
The solid red, blue and green rods all say slightly larger fish. The blue/white striped rod says all fish 5% larger. So what exactly is slightly larger? Is the striped pole better or the same?
One increases the chance that you'll hook a larger fish, another increases the size of all the fish you hook. Subtle difference I know :)
where find peg leg?
Try fishing in Waves of Doom for the Peg Leg. It's fairly rare though.

today i caught 3 smiling inigo
he weighed 2090 lbs before today
1st time i caught him he weighed 2194.50 lbs = +5%
2nd time 2195.50 = +1lbs
3rd time 2196.50 = +1lbs
why?
similar with carpo marx i caught 9 carpo marx today
before today he weighed 210 lbs
everytime i caught him only +1lbs
how grows every named fish?
Each time you catch and release a named fish it grows a little so it's a bit more challenging next time you catch it. Otherwise the leaderboards for them on Plus+ would be a little dull ;)

there are no leaderboard for named fish
The Superlure rod is probably your best bait, reels don't reely matter (sorry! :) ) but if you have the tasty bait gizmo unlocked, that's handy as is the Golden Lure charm you get in the quest.
The named fish are supposed to be on the Plus+ leaderboards for FFF but the databases are still undergoing updates. They should hopefully be active with the upcoming 1.2 update.

How long should I wait for the named-fish grow most.
When I catch a named-fish I caught a short time ago it grows as only 1lbs :s
It's not based on time. They grow each time you catch them.
So why the growth of my smiling inigo :
2090 lbs
1 month later :2194.50 lbs = +5% exactly
& the same day 2195.50 , 2196.50 = +1 lbs only?
same with my big red : 151lbs: 1 month later 188 lbs = 5%
carpo marx: 211 lbs: 16 time caught in 3 day = 212,213,214,215,216,217,218...lbs
time without catching named-fish should affect growth.
It sure as time goes to the weight of the fish but how?
Named-fish over 100 lbs grow as 1 lbs when they are caught up since shortly and those under 100 lbs grow by only 1%
I am sure that, pending the longer they grow more.

I wrote the code to make them grow specifically each time you catch them. The amount they grow depends on the fish and various other factors, but the time since the last catch isn't one of them.

To make them grow more, simply catch them more. Each time you catch a named fish, it grows slightly.

It is a nice leaderboard.
But why fishes have a bizarre weight?
For example my old mog weighs 219.67 lbs but on the leaderboard it weighs 13lb 11.66 oz.
Why? Similar with the other named-fish.
Now may I catch buckles on fff?
If yes where and with which bait and at which distance I may catch him?
Slight glitch in the display format of the named fish on the FFF leaderboard. Hopefully we'll be able to update that today sometime.

Buckles is in the 1.2 update of FFF that's going through final QA and approval submission at the moment.

The leaderboard with each named fish, number of caught fishes, and number of fishes of the day caught is good.
You could put also a total leaderboard by taking the sum of the records of every fishes and named-fish, what would give a total weight of the record of all the fishes and the named-fish. You could call that: TOTAL RANKING

Buckles should be in Blue Deeps, but you'll need to wait for the 1.2 update on FFF. That's been submitted to Apple and is waiting for approval.
Someone spotted a Sarge bobblehead floating downriver a while back I think ;)

the update release is entirely dependent on Apple. Once we've submitted it for approval all we can do is wait.
For Buckles, bait as if you're fishing for sailfish and cast to maximum distance.

What are these factors ?
Mostly how many times you catch them.
I don't normally give out technical details of how my games work though as it's not something players usually need to know and can actually spoil the enjoyment of games over time if you are trying to play them in a way that matches the information you've been told about how it works. Part of the game design is making it appear to do something a player expects without necessarily doing it in a way the player expects underneath the hood so that playing the game guides the player into a way of playing that's fun.

Tire in the old pond ?, i have had a million casts in the old pond and never caugh a tire yet, i am desperate to get some tires for my collectibles, which bait/rod did you use , any help would be appreciated, thanks
Tiddles is a bream and you can catch it at The Old Pond. Must use maggots for bait. Cast as far as you can - 28 - 30 feet.

but buckles is not in the leaderboard, why?

The leaderboards are scored based on who's caught the most of each named fish (ie the heaviest) otherwise they'd be a bit boring :)
Sometimes Plus+ isn't able to send your scores to the leaderboards immediately depending on your connection. Usually it caches them to try again later, but sometimes it can miss entirely.

ok, ive flished the old pond to death trying to get a tire but no luck , casting 29feet, using bait fish but all i am catching is chest & old boot , desperate for tire, anymore help please
tire is rare 40 old boot + 40 treasure chest= 1 tire

Challenge Points are a 'coming soon' feature for 1.3 ;)

Aaron i think you should add some fishs in FF & FFF
That would be a good idea to add the sharks in the game
if you add: manta ray, crab, trevally, eel, piranha, goliath tigerfish, arapaima, conger, saw shark, hammerhead shark, white shark, i'm sure that your game will be recognized worlwide and the number of players will be at least doubled.
for example you could create a new fishing zone called Amazon River where there are arapaima, piranha, goliath tigerfish... where the fish would be extremely hard to catch, and with the boss: a monster arapaima named piracucu
i think to attract many players on your game it is important to add the white shark.
if you add the other fish i've said before, your game going to make a buzz.
The biggest fish in the game sould be a white shark with an other named fish.

As I've mentioned before, sharks won't be added to Flick Fishing due to their critically endangered status.
There are plenty of other fish though and the next update will have some new ones, as well as at least a couple of new fishing spots :)

I hope there will be very agressive fish, more than swordfish and especially a named-fish wich is very hard to catch because even smiling inigo is a little too easy to catch.
I hope to see fish like piranha, arapaima or trevally :p

you can catch smiling ingo in 1H30 as my 1st smiling inigo lol, but u gotta take risks to shorten the fight.
I caught 15 Buckles in 1H30, very easy fish.

Tiddles is very rare, i caught only 10 tiddles for 500 breams & 1000 roach.

For the bobble heads fish at the breakwater for the OGITL and Riverside for the Sarge one. They're extremely rare though.

I'm on FFF and I've been playing it for 2 months now.
I'm having problem catching some of the named fishes.
All I have caught is only old mog, fat bob, gums, big red and hank.
I only have the red rod for now as I have yet to collect the other gizmos.
can anyone help me out just a bit ?

The named fish are pretty rare, so it's mostly a case of making sure you have the right bait for them and keep trying. Also make sure you're casting to max distance (or 'middle' of the river at 70ft or so on the Riverside). Gums and Hank Marlin are both fairly tricky, so you're actually doing quite well (I think Bazzacuda currently has the most votes or swear words associated with being the hardest to catch ;) ).
