I currently have an N.S.E. Thor with 11148 Shield strength, 40 tons cargo space and 10 tons equipment capacity with 4 Retribution IV lasers and 4 FirestormV IV plasma cannons.

On a separate account, I've been recently playing around with the smaller ships... because it isn't always fun playing god lol.
I just picked up the Scorn recently. Extremely tiny ship, with 50 loadout capacity. It really makes you think why the larger ships don't have more capacity lol, since most mid size ships could probably carry a bunch of these little guys within their hull. But anyways, I picked up the scorn, equipped it with 2 pirate plasma weapons and 1 wrrrcanator. It is certainly fun to fly it around :D and destroying ships 50x my size lol.

As soon as I "finish" the game (for me after I have explored all the areas) then I will probably go back and try it out with a smaller ship. I am a big Escape Velocity fan (original and EVN, not so much EVO) and used to like playing with souped-up Valkryies or Starbridges. I played once with a heavily modified Auroran Cruiser, but it got old. I did play with a Polaris Raven with maxed out arms (capacitor pulse lasers) one time, talk about playing God... if it were possible I could have destroyed planets with that ship!

Speaking of planet destruction. I heard the "Rain of God" ship does exactly that.

Well I got through more of the game, pretty much completed the "official" quest from the Center of the Galaxy. I did see the Rain of God ship but it was not all that impressive to me. I ended up with a Conaire, which is great for making money with 800 tons of cargo space! At 16,000 base shields (over 20,000 with my shield upgrades) I am pretty tough. And then there are my 4 Retribution GOLD and 3 Blitz Missile GOLD weapons; yes, I am pretty unstoppable!
I was considering the W'rkncacnter, but never made it back with enough money before I completed the Center of Galaxy quest. I may play again with a different ship and use the W'rkncacnter...

I prefer the Slighten for the speed (135), and it is pretty decent with 8000 shields (+upgrades), 40 Cargo, and 4 Equipment. Preferable loaded out with 4x FirestormV X (2833 damage per sec). Makes short work of everything.
Finally had to compile it all to make sense of it, and made a site today at http://warpgateguide.blogspot.com/2010/08/ship-stats.html
Still working on other details.
I hate trying to roam the Galaxy in the Conaire. But it's great for trade runs of 800 Weapons.

Hey Guaigean, great post! Very useful info at your link, thanks for sharing!

My favorite combo is the Daedalus with 5 of the weapon that costs 7777777, then 5 rapakavi x. I think the Daedalus is better than the conaire and it's cheaper.

Did you find the Daedalus slow? That is the common complaint I have read from others, so I opted for the Conaire. While having more weapons and shielding is attractive, I found that I did not need that many weapon slots with the Gold weapons (they are so powerful already) and the expanded cargo space + increased speed more than made up for the weapon slots and shielding.

Yes it's really slow but I fight a lot and do not have the gold weapons yet. I do wish it had more space for cargo though.

Hey Guaigean! EXCELLENT Contribution! I always wanted to check out a ship list like that.
Oh btw, did you know there are 2 different types of Slightens? Of course there are ships that have different colored versions such as plain white and red versions of the same ship, but with the Slighten, the green version have different stats. The green version is far weaker then the white version and it can be found somewhere in the Adelaiden territory. (Forgot where)

Howard Wen,
Thanks! I had remembered a discrepency on the Slighten, but thought I must have made a typo initially. Went back to both planets and found the difference you mentioned. The one on Tatonia has 135 speed / 8000 shields (up to 23673 so far with the upgrades I have), and the one on Alnas (the Green one) only has 65 speed / 3000 shields (other stats the same). I'll update the page to reflect it soon.
Thanks again! And please feel free to let me know if you find more discrepancies.
i prefer big ships with high quality and good services... ^_^..

Been playing just about a week now, my answer may change, but so far agree the conaire has Been nice. Using 7 w'rkn's, which really is nice. Entering battle I jut slap my weapons and so far Everything dies! Certainly the cargo space is nice, the shields are about 20% weaker than the daedalus But the D was annoyingly slow. Right now might have to go to a ship with no cargo space, as I Am having a problem with my cash balance turning negative if I add any profits!

I say the cheapest best big ship is on earths moon it's great.

The ship from Earth's moon is the Thor.
Personally I like my Forgone. Slow, but not as slow as a Daedalus or Conaire. Decent cargo at 60 tons. 10 tons of equipment make for an awesome loadout with non-uber weapons, and the shields are excellent at 16393 (my current, not the ship's base shields). I will probably change when I have the Wrr's or Gold weapons and can afford to have fewer weapons, but for now it serves my purposes.
