What am I doing wrong?

Since the recent update I'm unable to fish with anything but the black fishing pole.  Is this part of some upgrade that will force me to find all the collectables so that I can fish with fishing poles I have been using for over a year? Oh I neglected to mention this is in the paid version of Flick Fishing. Please advise.

Yes, with the upgrade the secret musical duck pond goes back to just being a musical toy rather than a hidden game feature. Originally it wasn't intended to have any relation to gameplay but a couple of upgrades in we used it as a way to secretly pick different coloured rods and later they got subtle differences in effect. In the current game you unlock the rods with the collectibles but they're slightly more effective than they used to be too.

Yes, one of the reasons for putting the Megaguide online instead of in the game is so I can update it and add new info without having to put the game through the full update and approval process. It also has the handy effect of reducing the memory footprint of the game by quite a bit so it should run a lot better on the lower end devices.

I still have the green & white striped rod after the 1.6 update, happily enough. I like the way it looks. It's going to take a very long time, with the collectibles being so rare, to unlock those rods, reels & gizmos by the looks.

Please help with collectables..  or make a more standard way of collecting them Aaron Pleeeeease !!!  I mean 57 boots, 51 chest, 22 kegs, 21 wine, 44 sodas..   but far too rare are the paintings !!  I have NONE!!  tires.. one ?? Flintlock 1.. and the peg leg..  zero as well !!  I mean everything else comes along now and then..  I have all I need 10 or 15 of the lifebelt, propeller, driftwood, mine, trident, anchor etc.. etc..   But I cannot complete any of the collections because no PAINTING AND NO PEG LEG.. OH AND ONLY 1 FLINTLOCK.. AND JUST CHECKED NO LIGHT BULBS AS WELL??    If anyone can help with these would appreciate very much.. or maybe add into the game that we can exchange 50 of out boots to get something we actually need??  Or maybe the treasure chest can actually have something in them ?  just sayin.. 51 treasure chests and nothing in them..?  Makes no sense when you cant find a single light bulb, or painting ot flintlock to unlock any of the good stuff :((

first thing you're doing wrong is posting in a thread that next to no one is going to read. "What am I doing wrong" won't attract a lot of eyeballs. Not much to do with collections. I'll post a more useful answer either in an existing thread or a new one, more aptly named. Real soon now...
