After all these years, I've discovered an important bug in Hearts Deluxe. I know it doesn't work in Lion and it isn't supported any more, but it's kind of surprising and I'm curious about it. My machine won't upgrade to Lion anyway.

In an early round, I lead a high club. My left hand opponent drops the queen of spades. But in a subsequent trick, I discover she holds at least one more club.

If I undo the trick and lead a low club, she plays a higher club instead of dropping the queen.

I just noticed this for the first time, but it must have happened many other times. I must have lost many games for this reason without realizing what had happened. If I now played lots of games I could keep notes, find out how often it happens, and clarify when it happens, but I'm probably not going to do it. This totally spoils the game for me. Too bad. I really enjoy this game. I haven't found a good substitute for it.

I'm wondering if this has been reported before, or if Freeverse knows about it.
